It is not surprising that I am writing this between bouts of sneezing and coughs? Pups arrival has coincided with rain, rain and more rain. I have found myself more than once shivering in the very early hours of the morning in my gumboots and nighty while I waited for the littlest Airedale to do a pee in the garden. I note as the week progressed he has frequently walked straight back indoors rather than do what is required. A fair comment on being woken for a deep sleep to be thrust outside for a toilet stop. While we have both found it unpleasant, needs must when you have pup. Cold weather aside week one of three dogs has come and gone and we are all still speaking to each other. Bigger dogs stand guard of the littlest one as he figures out life. Atlas, (who if you known of him in person you will be super surprised to see me write) has evolved into the senior parental figure giving a guiding growl if required but mostly sits, observing his tribe. Eos is a confusing mix of understanding this new dynamic, wanting to play, stealing toys and wanting to be left alone. So a true big sister in the most loveable way. Overall I am amazed by these beautiful creatures that make up my family.
With sniffles and sneezes comes a foggy mind so it is a short newsletter featuring a collection random things from my week:
I seem to be still collecting plants for my garden. I have worked out rather large space I want to redesign and have been noting plants I want to add to this space. I was super excited to see Susie offering Biden for sale. It is a plant I love and frequently photograph when walking in the botanical gardens.
I did manage before the snuffles got me to go for a walk around the botanical gardens with a friend. I always love how no matter what the season there is always a story with a unique colour palette to be told.
A new poppy flowered and while I think she has succumbed to the weather for a few days she provided me with endless delight. Winter can be a hard time for garden photography but sometimes I think it is the best because it makes you focus on what is in front of you and encourages you to look at it from different angles. This is a great way to be more creative.
Keep warm and well.
Oh that Poppy ❤️
