The shift in mood at the end, "I have done enough," is something I recognize deeply from the garden. There's a moment where the body just decides, and if you listen to it instead of pushing through, the whole afternoon lands differently. Also, the riot of chrysanthemums you didn't chop back becoming the best thing in the garden is such a perfect accident. Sometimes the things we neglect to control are the ones that teach us the most.
