I’m putting the washing out, a task I am not thrilled about doing. It’s the socks that get me, there is always so many of them. As I put out the three loads I did yesterday in an attempt to get ahead today I use this time to let my mind wander. Here are my random washing line thoughts:
How I now have socks for the dogs to peg on the line. Eos has a sore paw and keeps licking it so she has to wear a sock to prevent her from doing so.
How the plum tree that shades over the washing line is fully in leaf. I am looking forward to when the Clematis that grows up it flowers.
How there is new white bloom flowering over the fence which I have never noticed it before.
How it is windy but hopefully the right kind so that the washing gets dry and I can garden.
How pup pup keeps stealing the clothes pegs out of the basket and if not the pegs then it is socks. I should tell him off more but it is heartening to see him have fun with them. Essentially I am a lazy dog ma.
How I brought two artichokes for the garden yesterday at the market. I have some in the garden but they aren’t fruiting as much as they use to and I love the extravagance of eating artichokes leaves with melted butter.
How the peach tree is flowering and we have not treated it for leaf curl despite having brought the treatment about a month ago. The sprayer is buried in the bottom of the garage. There is always next year.
How we need to crack on with the spring clean and tidy of the house. I am using the excuse of having a puppy for the state it is in.
How I want to do a writing course and I found a workshop which is for 2025 and how that thought of a new year and it’s associated freshness is a nice feeling.
How green the garden is suddenly looking.
How marvelous all the daffodils are that I have planted in the lawn and the many pots about the place. I hope I can photograph them today (I did)
How I am reading a good book and it is short and I will have the satisfaction of finishing it over the weekend.
How that spot by the garden shed needs planting, I wonder what bee friendly plants I could add.
How my worm farm is slowly getting going and how I am not 100% sure I have it set up right. I think I need more worms. I can see that there are heaps of baby worms and then I wonder how long it takes for them to be come adult worms ( It can take a year the internet tells me)
How I have pegged the last sock and it is before 10am and I should be able to get in the garden and get somethings planted.
Lovely washing line thoughts! A most enjoyable read.
